Preds v. Hawks: Play-by-Play, Food and Beer!!

Rather than a simple wrap-up like I did for the Caps game last night, I figured it would be better to sort of "live blog" the Preds games, especially since I'm drinking and my recall is significantly affected by alcohol! :) Its not all hockey. There's some food and beer thrown in, too!

(1st P 9:25)- This could be worse. If Trotz had a brain Klein would sit his sorry ass on the bench the rest of the night. Team that takes the fewest penalties in the league takes one in the first minute. Stupid fucking rookie.


(1st P 7:16)- What a save Rinne! How about we don't give them breakaways, though? Also, I don't care what anyone says. Towes is pronounced "toes." How in the hell do you get "tayes" from that. You don't.


(1st P 4:35)- Good pressure. Quick shots. I like.


(1st P 1:06)- First beer done. Magic Hat Spring Seasonal Vinyl Lager. Decent enough. On to #2.


(1st Intermission)- On to Kona Longboad Island Lager. Not as good as the Kona Coffee Porter. Boo. Expectations were high. Very aley. Like a mouth full of soapy water. We got out of that period alive, too. Good news! Time to start dinner. Spicy mango chicken, grilled bacon wrapped asparagus and mashed butternut squash. Yum.


(2nd P 18:54)- Not comfortable with how this period has started, except Klein got knocked in the jaw. Sweet! Maybe he won't come back, since Trotz isn't smart enough to bench his ass. "Nut Sack" is healthy...play him instead!!!


(2nd P 15:25)- GASP! Post. Clink! Close. Loud post. Can't speak clearly.


(2nd P 14:43)- Power Play. Shots even, surprisingly. Wow.


(2nd P 10:41)- Thanks Ward!


(2nd P 10:17)- Chicago scores. That's fine. I like it when the other team scores first. Seems to light a fire under their asses.


(2nd P 9:19)- Lemonheads is a dasherboard sponsor in Chicago? WTF?


(2nd P 5:32)- Screw the Cubs. They are irrelevant.


(2nd P 1:08)- Wishes I could nap through the 2nd Intermission. I'm sure that's just the beer talking.


(2nd Intermission)- Didn't like the late period D breakdown. But still overall tight game. Have no real complaints about Nashville's play so far.


(3rd P 18:29)- Mashing my butternut squash and Sully hits a post. A few seconds later Dumont scores!!! SWEET!!! On to beer #3 Warsteiner. Best one of the night...perfect timing!!


(3rd P 13:20)- Close call by "Toes" but Rinne keeps us in the game!!!


(3rd P 13:10)- Nice pass Klein!!! Jeez!


(3rd P 10:53)- Food is delish! Asparagus is nice and crispy, the squash is amazing, and the chicken much, much better than expected. VERY spicy. Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect for a Friday night and spicy hockey! Beer still good, but not so much a match for this food.


Preds put on pressure!!! Sully and Weber slamming Niemi! Now Dumont scores again!! I'll take it!


(3rd P 5:27)- Hang on guys, only 5 minutes!!! You don't get a point for OT anymore!!


(3rd P 4:31)- Glad to see Weber and Suter stopped being pantywaists and started sacrificing the body a little! Way to go guys!!!


(3rd P 3:26)- Get it out of your zone dickfaces!!!


(3rd P 2:40)- Wonder if they'll pull Niemi? Don't want to see that, really.


(3rd P 1:54)- So close! Good job Wilson! Nice try! A for effort!!

I was very pleased with the Preds' overall play. Even though it technically was a one goal game, I'm still fine with that. A win's a win! They stayed with the Hawks, played hard and had plenty of heart and soul! Surprise performance by JP Dumont. I think they can take this series, I really do!
